International
students
International students are welcome at ISAE-ENSMA. Different possibilities are offered to exchange students depending on the program of interest.
The different programs
You are student from a partner university
You have access to 4 programs: select only 1 program and choose which semester(s) you want to attend
- Diplôme d’Ingénieur ENSMA (Master level program, taught in FRENCH only)
- MSc Aeronautics and Space – Major AME (Aeronautical Mechanics and Energetics, taught in ENGLISH only)
- MSc Aeronautics and Space – Major Turbulence (taught in ENGLISH only) : careful the 1st year of the program takes place in Lille (Ecole Centrale) and the 2nd year in Poitiers (ENSIP and ISAE-ENSMA).
- Research project within one of the ISAE-ENSMA laboratories
Language proficiency
An official language test at minimum level B1 in the language of instruction of the programme is required (in French for the Diplôme d’Ingénieur, DELF type, in English for the MSc Aeronautics and Space – AME or Turbulence majors, TOEFL, IELTS type, etc.).
1. « ISAE-ENSMA Engineering program »
This program is taught in French. Please find some information and application procedure.
ISAE-ENSMA students integrate the school after a 2-year intensive program in Maths and Physics and spend 3 years at ISAE-ENSMA leading to a Master’s degree called “Diplôme d’Ingénieur”
Our 1st year corresponds to a 3rd year at University. Our 2nd year corresponds to a 1st year of Master program. The 3rd year corresponds to the 2nd year of Master program.
According to your level, you will have to choose between:
– 1st year courses (semesters 1 & 2),
– 2nd year courses (semesters 3 & 4),
– 3rd year courses (semester 5).
You cannot combine courses from different years.
The final year (i.e. 3rd year, semester 5) is composed of 7 specializations (majors). You will have to choose one specialization only among the list below:
– Aerodynamics
– Energetics
– Heat transfer
– Structures
– Advanced materials
– Computer science – Avionics : Systems
– Computer science – Avionics : Data
You cannot combine courses from different specializations.
Concerning the internships, international exchange students (except Double Degree students) cannot register to the course Junior Engineering training (STI6) for students registered in the second year or Graduation Project (PFE6) for students registered in the third year. They must indicate on their learning agreement : Long-term internship (STL : 30 ECTS – 5 to 6 months) or Short-term internship (STC : 17 ECTS – 3 to 4 months).
You can find the course catalog here.
Careful, a few changes may occur for next academic year.
2. MSc Aeronautics and Space – Major AME (Aeronautical Mechanics and Energetics)
This program is taught in English. Please find some information and application procedure.
This Master program is composed of 2 years of studies.
You will have to choose which semester(s) you want to attend. You cannot combine courses from different years.
There are two specializations: Energetics and Propulsion and High temperature Materials. You cannot combine courses from different specializations.
You can find the course catalog here.
Careful, a few changes may occur for next academic year.
3. MSc Aeronautics and Space – Major Turbulence
This program is taught in English. Please find some information and application procedure.
This Master program is composed of 2 years of studies.
As exchange students, you only have access to 2nd year courses. This program is not open to double degree students.
You can find information about courses.
Careful, a few changes may occur for next academic year.
4. Research project within one of the ISAE-ENSMA laboratories
Students coming for a research project are responsible to find their own placement by contacting directly the laboratory/department/professor/researcher.
Placement can be offered in the following departments’ laboratories:
– P’-PMM – Physics and Mechanics of Materials
– P’-FTC – Fluids (aerodynamics, turbulence, flows)
– P’-FTC – Heat Transfer (conduction, radiation, two-phase flows)
– P’-FTC – Combustion (propulsion, detonation)
– LIAS – Laboratory of Computer Science and Automatic Control for Systems (avionics, embedded systems)
Some internship offers are available here.
Please find below the contact details of the research teams:
– LIAS
You can start the online application only after receiving an official approval from a supervisor. It is compulsory to indicate the name of your future supervisor when you apply online so that the International Office can verify the details of the placement with the host laboratory.
Length of research project: Minimum 3 months and maximum 6 months.
You can start anytime during the academic year. Be careful, labs are closed 1 week during Christmas and 4 weeks in Summer. Students, who wish to transfer credits, will have to submit a report and make a defence thesis at ENSMA before leaving.
You are not a student from a partner university
You have access to 3 programs:
- MSc Aeronautics and Space – Major AME (Aeronautical Mechanics and Energetics, taught in ENGLISH only)
This Master program is composed of 2 years of studies.
2 specializations are offered:
– Energetics and Propulsion
– High Temperature Materials
You are advised to select the specializations by order of preference.
- MSc Aeronautics and Space – Major Turbulence (taught in ENGLISH only) : careful the 1st year of the program takes place in Lille (Ecole Centrale) and the 2nd year in Poitiers (ENSIP and ISAE-ENSMA). Please find some information below: http://imp-turbulence.ec-lille.fr/index.php .
This Master program is composed of 2 years of studies.
You want to participate in a Summer Program
The Aerospace Summer Program is tailored for undergraduate junior and senior students with a strong interest in aerospace. A good background in general sciences, aeronautical and/or space is expected.
Overview
